Matteo Belfiore appointed as Ambassador of Italian Design in Romania – Italian Design Day 2025
Matteo Belfiore has been appointed as Ambassador of Italian Design in Romania for the Italian Design Day 2025, the international initiative promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale, Triennale Milano, and other institutions, to celebrate and promote the excellence of Italian design worldwide.
Each year, one hundred Italian Design Ambassadors are selected to strengthen cultural and professional ties between Italy and the rest of the world through lectures, exhibitions, and meetings.
As part of his role, Matteo Belfiore, together with Valentina Cannava, curated the exhibition “Accessible & Inclusive: Italian Design for a Better Life” during the Romanian Design Week 2025. He was also invited to hold a masterclass at the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, focusing on inclusive design and cross-cultural approaches in contemporary practice.
The 9th edition of Italian Design Day is being held on 12 February 2025 under the theme “Inequalities. Design for a Better Life.” This year’s edition ties in with the upcoming International Exhibition at Triennale Milano, “Inequalities. How to Mend the Fractures of Humanity,” scheduled to open in May. The initiative aims to highlight the most effective policies and representative projects that address the inequalities shaping cities and societies around the world.
